Lost Childhood Object: Pillow Pet

 

I partnered up with Ella, who described her beloved childhood object: her unicorn Pillow Pet. Its name was Uni and smelled like "home" and lavender. To create this object, I started off with taping two pieces of purple paper together and decided against it. I sewed two rectangles of white fabric together instead and painted the top with light purple acrylic paint. I created the head from felt and the horn from the old purple paper. This was a fun, playful project, including its very beginning of mentally transporting ourselves from the classroom to our childhood bedrooms.
